Virtual University

IIABA's Virtual University has rapidly become one of the primary online educational and research resources for independent agents and companies on technical, sales, management and customer services issues. In an effort to enhance the features and usability of the Virtual University, several recent changes have been made to the VU web site. Among the new enhancements is a link at the top of each page to a new search engine and a site map. The search page is ideal for looking up particular words or phrases, while the site map is designed for looking up specific topics. A new page in the "Help" section of the VU Web site allows you to convert the entire site from English into eight other languages: Spanish, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese. IIABA has an international outreach program underway which, along with its ongoing diversity program, will be well served by this translation facility. Furthermore, a new section in the "Lounge" area of the VU contains dozens of links to insurance and risk management-related Web sites, and a new campus radio station is now on the air and broadcasting 24 hours a day allowing you to select among 12 channels of music ranging from hip-hop to classical. Studies show that learning is enhanced when accompanied by music. Visit the IIABA Virtual University to learn more about the research and learning opportunities provided and sign up for the free biweekly email newsletter VUpoint.
